Israel-based N-trig has raised $24 million in financing from Aurum Ventures, Challenger, Canaan Partners, Evergreen Venture Partners and Microsoft.
The company produces DuoSense, a technology that “combines pen, touch and multi-touch in a single device, using zero-pressure capacitive touch to provide a true Hands-on computing experience”. The technology is currently used in Dell’s Latitude XT and HP’s TouchSmart tx2, and will be compatible with the Windows 7 multi-touch interface. The company says its technology enables a more intuitive computing experience while offering users the flexibility of using their fingers or a stylus to interact with touchscreens.
N-trig said in a statement that it will use the new round to “continue working with leading OEMs to create multi-touch notebooks and convertible computers for the mainstream marketplace”.
Headquartered in Kfar Saba, Israel, N-trig was founded in 1999 and has offices in the United States and Taiwan. The company previously raised $28 million in February 2008.
