ivdopia iVdopia ad network brings video ads, sponsorships to iPhone applicationsiVdopia, a video advertising platform for iPhone applications, has launched this morning.  A product of Vdopia, a company that provides video advertising solutions for Indian internet TV destinations, the iVdopia platform offers a variety of advertising solutions for app developers beyond the good ol’ banner ad.

Pre-roll and post-roll ads will be available, but more interesting will be sponsorships.  As far as I know, no other iPhone ad network offers sponsorships or product placement within iPhone applications.  Sponsorships consist of 5 to 10 second video ads that run as an application loads.  If a viewer clicks on it, a mini web page for the sponsor pops up that provides the opportunity to watch another video or directly call the advertiser.

“The launch of iVdopia enables Vdopia to extend its reach through the iPhone 3G advertising network,” said Vdopia founder Srikanth Kakani in a statement. “iVdopia focuses on providing the best experience to both brands and users by enabling the most advanced caching algorithms for uninterrupted user experience and lower ad latencies. Vdopia has experience delivering scalable campaigns for brands such as eBay, Nokia, Samsung among others in the online space. iVdopia is generating even greater response from the top brands in the US.”

Vdopia was founded by Chhavi Upadhya, Srikanth Kakani and Saurabh Bhatia.  The company has offices in the United States and India.

  • I think video advertising for Iphones have limited potential at this stage of the game, due to minimal iphone usage. On the other hand, sites like Adwido and YouTube will continue to get more advertising dollars from small businesses who want maximum exposure.
