Kensington has debuted a new iPhone windshield or dashboard cradle called the Sound Amplified Cradle. Intended for use with GPS navigation applications, and characterized as an ideal solution for Navigon’s updated app with text-to-speech (and a direct competitor to Navigon’s own iPhone mount), the Sound Amplified Cradle can be mounted in portrait or landscape mode and has a built-in speaker which doubles the volume of spoken directions. The cradle comes with attachments enabling compatibility with any existing iPhone model, as well as an opening for attaching a power cable. Unfortunately though, users have to supply their own charger as the cradle doesn’t include its own. Initially shipping to Apple retail stores in November, the Kensington Sound Amplified Cradle costs $40.
