lightning gps spark nano Lightning GPS Spark Nano GPS tracker debuts for $299.95

With the launch of its Spark Nano military-grade GPS tracker today, Lightning GPS claims the rights to the “smallest GPS tracking device available to the public”.  Roughly the size of a 9V battery, the Spark Nano is good for 5 days of continuous tracking on its rechargeable battery, and is water-resistant enabling it to be  placed in exposed areas such as underneath a vehicle.

The Spark Nano takes about 40 seconds to acquire a GPS fix from a cold start, and it features a personal alarm combined with text messaging and email for personal safety.  It also allows parents, for example, to set up geographic boundaries or geofences so they’ll be alerted by text or email if their child ventures out (or back in) to a predefined region.

Available now, the Lightning GPS Spark Nano is a little on the pricey side at $299.94.  That’s combined with a $49.95 monthly service plan and an extra $5 for the personal alarm.

The Lightning is not "the" smallest - it's in fact the same size as the sentryGPSid personal location device = http://www.sentryGPSid.com, who offers all of the same features, but also has an INDUSTRY FIRST polygonal geofencing ability.
Oh year, and the device only costs $185, with a monthly service fee of $19.
Why would anyone want to pay what Lightning GPS (aka. Brickhouse) is charging when they can have better service for under half of the price?
