lal logo trans Liquid Air Lab debuts adtronic Symbian app store with complete ad supportIt looks like Nokia won’t be the first company to launch a Symbian application store.  Liquid Air Lab debuted adtronic today, a completely ad-supported Symbian app store.  Available on Nokia devices, adtronic has loaded the store with 150 applications at launch from developers like Indiagames, Joikusoft, DS Effects, Killer Mobile, ZingMagic and Cellictica.  Liquid Air Lab hopes to grow that number to 1, 500 by this summer.

Because every application is ad-supported, they can all be downloaded for free.  In exchange, visual ads appear when users receive incoming calls or text message. According to Liquid Air Lab, users have full control over the ads, choosing the frequency and types of ads viewed.  I’m not entirely sure if putting the clamp down on ads will result in restrictions on app downloads, but I’m guessing this is probably the case.

Developers get an undisclosed cut of the ad revenues as do network operators who choose to distribute the application store on handsets.

The application store can downloaded directly from your phone at http://www.adtronic.mobi.
