LouderVoice has launched the first Android application released out of Ireland. Tagged with the same name as the company, LouderVoice for Android is a business review application that lets you find and write reviews of restaurants, bars and other businesses. Using cell tower and GPS location, LouderVoice also filters reviews so that it highlights those that are most pertinent to your location. Furthermore, LouderVoice reviews are supplemented by partner content including hotel reviews from Roomex, outdoor gear reviews from Puddleducks, audio product reviews from Klipsch and wine reviews from Bubble Brothers.
The company has been around since 2006 and already has a significant presence in Ireland, mostly due to its effective use of web-based social media sites. Not only can you submit and search for reviews on the dedicated LouderVoice website, but you can also submit reviews via SMS, your blog and Twitter. On the other side of the coin, if you’re a business you can have LouderVoice reviews of your services directly fed to a widget you can embed on your website.
Obviously only countries where Android-based mobile phones have been released will have access to LouderVoice via the Android Marketplace. I’m in Canada, so I’ll have to wait until later this year when both the HTC Magic and HTC Dream are supposed to be released with wireless providers Bell and Rogers.
