Magellan releases updated Triton software

triton 2000 150x150 Magellan releases updated Triton softwareGPS maker Magellan has released an updated version of its Triton software for the Triton outdoor handheld line.  The company claims quite a few improvements with the update including an enhanced user experience, the addition of VantagePoint software including the NMEA communication protocol and GPS logging, better positioning accuracy, improved search, enhanced sensors, an easier PC connection, and more.  The new download is available for free from Magellan’s website.  The company says it will also launch additional software updates in the spring.

In other Magellan news, MiTAC has completed its acquisition of the PND manufacturer and revealed that both Mio and Magellan will both continue to sell as separate brands in the United States.
