Magellan’s Maestro 4370 Gets Pulled Apart, Lives To See Another Day

Though released more than a little late, Magellan’s Maestro 4370 finally appeared mid-October.  That’s given CNET’s Bonnie Cha plenty of time to pick it apart, and find the unit’s good and bad points.  Turns out the famously tough reviewer was actually impressed.

One of the new features to Magellan GPS units is the OneTouch interface which allows users to navigate from the home screen to their favorite features with only one click of the touchscreen.  While at times the menu navigation was sluggish, Cha said that the enhanced usability provided by OneTouch was definitely one of the 4370’s good points.  Other positives included a sharp picture, advanced lane guidance, text-to-speech, Bluetooth, and accurate directions (I would hope so).

On the lackluster side was the sometimes choppy voice-guided directions and poor Bluetooth synchronization with other devices.  In the end though Cha said the Magellan Maestro 4370 delivered and gave it a rating of 3.5 out of 5.

You can get the Maestro 4370 from Best Buy for $399.99.
