Small-time PND vendor Medion has just launched the Medion GoPal E3230 in the United States and will be releasing the GoPal P5430 in the United Kingdom November 30.
The Medion GoPal E3230 has a 3.5-inch touchscreen and is powered by a SiRFStarIII chipset with InstantFixII in tandem with Medion’s GoPal Navigator ME v4.5A. Featuring pre-loaded NAVTEQ maps of North America, the E3230 also sports a built-in TMC tuner for free real-time traffic updates for life, a speed advisor, photo viewer, security lock, and 2 GB of internal memory. Available exclusively from Aldi, the Medion GoPal E3230 costs $169.99.
Medion’s GoPal P5430 is a higher-end device that has a larger 5-inch touchscreen, powerful 600 MHz SiRF Titan processor, and the same SiRFStarIII GPS chipset as the E3230. This is a European model however, so it has NAVTEQ maps of both Western and Eastern Europe. It also has free real-time TMC traffic updates, and adds in an FM tuner, text-to-speech, pre-loaded safety camera locations, lane and speed advisor, 3 GB of internal memory, voice control, and even a biometric fingerprint sensor. Aldi is also the exclusive carrier of the Medion GoPal P5430, and will set UK buyers back £180.
