US wireless carrier MetroPCS has announced a blowout pricing plan for its new Blackberry Curve 8330 smartphone. For $50 per month, Curve 8330 users will get unlimited text, talk, web browsing, MMS and Blackberry email. Throw in an extra $10 and you’ll be granted access to the Blackberry Enterprise Server email version for business.
This is the first smartphone offered on any no-contract plan, including those from competitors Boost Mobile and Cricket. It’s also half the cost of Sprint’s $99 Simply Everything plan. The downside is that the GPS-enabled Blackberry Curve 8330 is only available in older MetroPCS 1900 MHz spectrum markets: Greater Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Detroit, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sacramento. At launch you’ll have to pick up the 8330 at Best Buy stores, though it’ll be available in MetroPCS retail locations by the end of March.
