GlobalSat GPS Receiver Coming August 16: Blackberry-Compatible

Blackberry users with models running from 7100g to 9000 will be able to use the GlobalSat GPS Receiver when it’s released August 16.  The Bluetooth 2.0-compatible receiver enhances Blackberry Maps, allowing you to find your current location and find the best route to any destination with turn-by-turn directions.  The GlobalSat is usable within 33 feet of any Bluetooth-enabled Blackberry smartphone, and is powered by a SiRF Star III chipset plus a ceramic patch antenna improving acquisition times and satellite fix retention even in tough environments.  After 10 minutes of non-use, the receiver powers down on its own meaning the battery life will last on average about 11 hours and charge in 4-5.  And how much does it cost?  $129.99 at shopblackberry.com, including a USB cable, battery and lanyard.
