Very few of us will ever have the opportunity to set foot on the moon, but thanks to the expected release of Moon in Google Earth yesterday, we can all get a little closer.
On the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing yesterday, Google announced the new service at the Newseum in Washington. To explore the moon, just make sure you have Google Earth 5.0, click on the Planet button on the top toolbar and click Moon.
Once you’re flown to the moon you’ll be able to pan, zoom and move your away around, check out Layers of different content like narrated tours and video footage, and even find out facts about every successful and non-successful moon landing.
