Motorola has announced the TN700 and TN500 GPS navigation systems at CES 2010. The GPS devices both are so-called “connected” devices, but have to be connected to a Bluetooth-enabled cellphone for a data connection. This technology is provided by Airbiquity and the Google Search capability augments the internal POI database.
The TN500 features a 4.3-inch widescreen display, lane guidance, junction views, spoken street names and more. The TN700 features a larger 5.1-inch cinematic display with all of the features of the TN500 but some additional functionality such as real-time traffic information provided through an optional dash cradle. It also has 3D landmarks.
Both devices are set to be released in the first quarter of 2010 for an as yet undisclosed price.
