Sunnyvale, California-based Abaq.us today announced the availability of MyGeoDiary for the iPhone and Facebook Connect integration into its website.
I reviewed MyGeoDiary a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed the user experience and simplicity of the website and overall service. Geared towards the outdoor lifestyle crowd, MyGeoDiary enables users to upload GPS tracks recorded during outdoor activities such as running, biking and hiking to a web-based user profile. Tracks, waypoints and pictures can be shared with the MyGeoDiary community, embedded in blog posts, and distributed to users’ Facebook and Twitter profiles.
With Facebook Connect integration, MyGeoDiary users will be able to sign in to the service with their Facebook credentials and have their MyGeoDiary content integrated into their Facebook activity streams. In the future, MyGeoDiary plans to extend its Facebook integration to include Facebook friend invites and Facebook widget/application support.
The iPhone application will allow users to record GPS tracks on the iPhone 3G and 3GS models and upload them to the MyGeoDiary website. You’ll find MyGeoDiary for the iPhone in the Travel section of the App Store for free until August 16. The application is also available for Blackberry, Android and Windows Mobile-based mobile phones.
