navigon 2410 1410 150x150 Navigon 2410, 2400, 1410, and 1400 PNDs go the extra mile for pedestriansNavigon has introduced four new entry-level PNDs–the 2410, the 2400, the 1410, and the 1400–today, with a special focus on pedestrian navigation in major European cities.

All four GPS devices work as in-car navigators with features such as personalized Navigon MyRoutes, Navigon Clever Parking for parking spot search, POI Click, Lane Assistant Pro, and Speed Assistant.  The 24xx series also adds in TMC Routing Info for alternative routing around traffic jams, Spoken TMC audio traffic reports, and Landmark View 3D.

But what sets the PNDs apart is the new pedestrian mode.  If you park short of your final destination, both the Navigon 24xx and 14xx detect movement and automatically switch to pedestrian mode, or Navigon Last Mile, at the same time recording the position of your vehicle.  The pedestrian mode shuts down driving-specific features such as Lane Assistant to save battery power.  The 2400 and 2410 also have an E-Compass feature which constantly points in the direction of your destination.

The Navigon 2410 and Navigon 1410 both include maps of 40 European countries and cost 169 euros and 149 euros, respectively.  The 129 euro Navigon 1400 includes maps of Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, while the 149 euro Navigon 2400 has maps of Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.  All four Navigon GPS devices will ship in Europe this month.
