Navigon 7300T GPS navigation device learns your driving habits

I’ve never been truly blown away by Navigon GPS devices.  Sure, they’re attractive and useful, but they’ve never really had that extra edge that makes them stand out.  Possibly until now.

The new Navigon 7300T is one GPS device that I really want to get my hands on and take for a spin.  Not only does it have Navigon’s attractive thin, piano black bezel and attractive user interface, it includes an array of new Navigon features.  The 4.3-inch widescreen portable navigation device is the first from Navigon to combine Panorama View 3D and Landmark View 3D.  Panorama View uses NASA terrain height data to bring an accurate portrayal of the outside landscape to the screen, complete with rolling hills and digital elevations.  Landmark View 3D shows true-to-life depictions of popular landmarks across the United States and Canada.

Navigon’s 7300T also includes MyRoutes which provides up to three route choices to your destination while your’re driving.  It not only includes real-time data such as speed limits, construction and traffic as you drive, but also factors in your personal driving habits as it learns your favorite routes over time.

Other features include
:

  • free real-time spoken traffic updates for life
  • voice address entry and control
  • new Rand McNally Scenic Routes
  • maps with clickable points of interest
  • Reality View Pro and Lane Assistant Pro
  • Bluetooth
  • text-to-speech with an improved database covering casual language use
  • speed assistant
  • DirectHelpSM for emergency information and contacts
  • multi-destination trip planning

Overall, from the feature set, the Navigon 7300T seems to be a more user-friendly and intuitive device than anything Navigon has previously released and I’m excited to try it.

That said, we’ll all have to wait a little longer as the Navigon 7300T won’t be released until sometime in the second quarter, priced at an MSRP of $399.99.  You’ll also be able to get 8 maps updates over 2 years with the $79.99 purchase of FreshMaps, only $39.99 if activated within 30 days of purchasing the 7300T.
