The Navigon iPhone car kit, announced yesterday, will not have a GPS chip in the original edition, according to the XSellize forums. Navigon reportedly said at the IFA conference in Berlin yesterday, that subsequent models may have a GPS chip which would improve the reception offered by the iPhone. The car kit is also rumored to cost under 40 euros when it’s released in October. That’s US$57–much less than TomTom’s car kit is expected to cost.
