Navigon has teamed up with ancient mapping company Rand McNally to bring McNally’s City Guides and Scenic Routes to its portable GPS navigation devices. City Guides provides points of interest for over 1, 400 cities in the United States and Canada and lets you plot the route to any POI with one touch of the Navigon PND display. Scenic Routes has more than 250 pre-planned trips mapped out for you also covering the continental United States and Canada. It splits the trips into weekend getaways, regional trips and scenic drives. Of course you’re also able to customize your own trip.
Rand McNally’s travel guides will be available with new Navigon PND’s and also downloadable through Navigon Fresh for $19.99 sometime in the spring of 2009.
