Navisurfer II: Get Rid Of The Car Radio And Stick a GPS-Enabled PC In Your Dash

by Justin on February 7, 2008

Most GPS units typically are mounted above or on the dash, but the new Navisurfer II actually occupies a single DIN slot in your car’s dashboard (basically in your car’s stereo space) in which it fits an entire PC and 7-inch touchscreen. The Navisurfer II features an LCD interface with 800×480 resolution, uses either the Windows XP or Linux OS and can serve as a GPS navigator, gaming console, media player, rear view camera or even a car problem diagnostic tool. Of course to enable these fantastic features you’ll have to make the additional purchase of a GPS receiver or video camera. Different models are available ranging from 40GB to 120GB of hard disk space and 256MB to 512MB of RAM, and priced between $578 and $656 US.
