ndrive logo NDrive goes global with iPhone navigation app releasePortugal-based NDrive Navigation Systems is on a mobile application roll lately, announcing the release of iPhone navigation applications (iTunes link) for the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Spain, Malaysia, Singapore, Colombia, Belgium/Netherlands/Luxembourg, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Poland/Czech Republic/Slovakia, Hungary/Austria/Croatia and Hong Kong/Macau. Map providers and prices vary according to region, but most of the western world will see Tele Atlas maps embedded in the NDrive iPhone app.

According to NDrive, the iPhone 3GS and 3G application has the following primary benefits:

  • Three different routing modes: automotive, pedestrian, and adventure.
  • Fastest search of any iPhone application (search by initials is included).
  • Graphics refresh at 6-10 frames per second enable video-like navigation.

The application includes features common to most iPhone navigation applications including turn-by-turn directions, alternative routing choices, 3D building representations, direct communications integration with POIs such as businesses, and a user interface supporting 28 languages.

By the way, for the first 2 Canadian iPhone owners that want to try out the NDrive application and can shoot me a 300-400 review (it’ll be published on the blog) of their thoughts afterwards, I have promo codes. If you’re interested, send an email my way at “justin@gpsobsessed.com” and I’ll send you the promo code!

I think its still quite unstable. And the location service is slow compare to google maps. I had 3g off and cellular data off and google maps was able to estimate my position quick. Secondly I don't really like maps with no street names on it and without buildings! Nothing beats ovi maps at the moment. My opinion, not worth the money until they improve it further. You know that feeling, like throwing a crush paper into the dustbin except that its dollar bills.
