Now I understand Sprint’s Motorola i365IS is a Nextel Direct Connect, push-to-talk device, blah, blah, blah. But talk about a differentiating feature: “a device that is incapable of releasing sufficient electrical or thermal energy to ignite fuel and cause a fire or explosion.” I bet you the guy who’s phone blew up in his pocket the other day would’ve liked one of these.
Anyway, Sprint’s Nextel Direct i365IS (IS=intrinsically safe) offers the usual push-to-talk-related features, an ultra-rugged military spec design, SMS/MMS messaging, GPS with audible and visual turn-by-turn directions, Bluetooth, and 300 minutes of talk time on a fully charged battery.
Motorola’s i365IS isn’t available from Sprint yet, but if you’re a rough-and-tough working person, it should be up for release soon.
