The folks from Gizmodo got a first hand look at an Android phone developed for desktops at CES 2009. Read that line again. Yep, not actually a mobile phone, but a desktop phone. Put together by a company known as Touch Revolution, the phone is called the NIMble. It features a 7-inch multitouch screen with 800 x 480 pixels and has a 624 MHz Marvel processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and an SD expansion slot. Gizmodo reports that the NIMble didn’t have any problems functioning but it need to scale the Android platform for a larger screen. In a nutshell, the screen wasn’t all that quick with its gesture support.
Hopefully Touch Revolution will get any issues fixed by September when the NIMble launches for $300 or for free with a $10/$20 monthly plan.
