I completely missed this announcement last week, but Nokia has announced a Navigation Edition of its 5800 smartphone. The Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition directly competes with TomTom’s iPhone application and still unreleased car kit. It’s preloaded with Ovi Maps and includes a lifetime subscription to voice-guided driving and walking directions. Unlike the original Nokia 5800, the Navigation Edition does away with the Comes With Music download service, but it does include a car mounting kit and a car charger. Shipping sometime in the third quarter of this year, the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition will cost €285 or about US$410.
