Nokia announces GPS-focused 6710 Navigator, 6720 classic at Mobile World Congress

Nokia has added a pair of new handsets to its location-focused Navigator line in Barcelona today.

The Nokia 6720 classic sports a candybar form factor and curved shape, Symbian S60 operating system, integrated GPS with Nokia Maps 3.0 with Ovi, 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual flash LED, photo geotagging, HSDPA/HSUPA high-speed connectivity, and support for N-Gage gaming.  The 6720 classic has boasts 8.5 hours of GSM talk time, 20 hours of standby time, 9 hours of video playback and 27 hours for music.  Additionally a full battery charge delivers 14 hours of GPS pedestrian navigation and 7 hours of in-car navigation.  The Nokia 6720 classic will ship in the second quarter of 2009 for 245 EUR before taxes and subsidies.

The second handset is the Nokia 6710 Navigator which emphasizes in-car and pedestrian navigation.  With integrated GPS, the 6710 Navigator offers real-time navigation using a dedicated navigator key through Nokia Maps 3.0.  Users can also geotag photos taken with the 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, and share them using the Ovi service at HSDPA/HSUPA data speeds.  The Symbian S60 6710 Navigator delivers up to 12.6 hours of pedestrian navigation and 6.6 hours of vehicle navigation.  In fact, it’ll also come packaged with a Nokia CR-111 car holder for dashboard mounting.  Watch for the Nokia 6710 Navigator to arrive in the third quarter of 2009 priced at 300 EUR before subsidies, etc.
