Nokia’s N97 was part of the company’s December 2008 announcement which mainly caught our attention because it signified Nokia’s committment to location. And while we haven’t mentioned it since then, we will mention that it’s available in the United States now for pre-order. The N97 not only packs in assisted GPS sensors and an electronic compass, but also a 3.5-inch, full touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, and a 5 megapixel camera. There are a couple of caveats though. Unlocked, the Nokia N97 costs $699. Furthermore, with a June launch you’ll potentially be throwing aside a new iPhone, a Palm Pre, and Samsung’s first Android-based mobile phone, the i7500. All three handsets are expected to ship in June.
