Have you ever wondered how extensive the damage would be if a nuclear bomb hit your town or city? Me neither, but now you can find out anyway using a Google Maps application called Ground Zero by Australian design house Carlos Labs.
All you have to do is enter your address or city, select your chosen nuclear weapon, and hit the Nuke It! Boom button. In exchange you’ll be returned a color-coded sphere around the centerpoint of the explosion. Deep red means total destruction, dark red nets you third degree burns, light red equals second degree burns, while yellow will net you a painful sunburn in the near term and the after-effects of harmful radiation over the long haul.
Well this app could seem silly to some, the reality of our time is that it models something that could very well happen in our world in the future.
