Sure, we already know the Palm Pre is going to offered on the Verizon Wireless network in the next 6 months or so. But if a hacker manages to get it done ahead of time, all the better. PreCentral forum member Cleanser has managed to hack the Pre’s CDMA radio and get voice and text working on Verizon. Although data isn’t working yet, Cleanser is working on it. The hardest part of the hack was getting Verizon to accept the device’s MEID (its unique identifier) despite the carrier’s claim of being an open network. But whatever, I’ll keep an eye on this and keep you updated.
