During Palm’s keynote at CES, the company didn’t discuss the Pre’s battery…nor would the company talk about it after. The folks from Pre Central claim that they did get a look at the battery though and it’s identical to the one used in the Palm Centro and Palm Treo 800w. Both of those phones use a 1150 mAh battery, like the T-Mobile G1, more or less infamous for its poor battery life. This isn’t confirmed by Palm, and we also have no idea how Palm’s webOS handles power management. Pre Central also points out that the Treo 800w does have a longer battery life than most Windows Mobile phones with similar specs and battery sizes. Jenn from Pocketables claims that a Palm rep told her the battery was 1200 mAh, so already we have a discrepancy.
