palmlogo Palm rumored to be debuting first Nova phone January 8Crunchgear has it from a ‘trusted’ source–who knows–that Palm’s first Nova-based phone will be released January 8, aka this Thursday.  According to the source, the Palm Nova phone will have a slider form factor with a full QWERTY keyboard sliding underneath a portrait touchscreen.  Likely manufactured by HTC, the phone’s launch will focus mainly on the new software, but is said to have the usual Palm business functions (calendar, email, contacts) and full media playback.

We’ll have to see if the new phone and accompanying Nova operating system is as amazing as it’s sounding, but judging by the recent $100 million investment in the company I can’t see it failing now.
