Pioneer has bowed its 2009 line of Cyber Navi and Air Navi GPS navigators for the Japanese market this morning.
The Cyber Navi GPS models–the Avic-VH9900, the Avic-ZH9900 and the Avic-H9900–are all hard disk drive-based like the 2008 predecessors. The Avic-H9900 is a single DIN system without a monitor, while the VH9900 and ZH9900 are both double DIN systems complete with 7-inch monitors and digital TV tuners. All the models also pack in real-time traffic services, Photoremo@Navi technology allowing Bluetooth interaction with compatible mobile phones, and dedicated short range communications-related services.
The VH9900, ZH9900 and H9900 will all be available in Japan later in May for 378, 000 yen (US$3, 820), 357, 000 yen (US$3, 607) and 189, 000 yen (US$1, 910), respectively.
The newest Air Navi GPS navigator, dubbed the Avic-T20, has a new widget function this year that allows users to pull up information like nearby gas prices, weather reports and other relevant, real-time information by simply touching an on-screen icon. The T20 has a 5.8-inch VGA display, digital TV tuner, and a suction cup mounting stand for easy installation. Pioneer plans to release the Avic-T20 in June for an undisclosed price.
