Ranger China has announced the Ranger GPS, a plugin cartridge that adds location functionality to the Nintendo DS. Though the new DS models have done away with the GBA slot, the Ranger GPS will still work with the millions of DS Lite models out there. The GPS cartridge packs in the latest GPS chipset, Google Maps software and aside from the DS will work with all kinds of other devices including laptops, PDAs, as well as Windows CE and Linux-based devices. The Ranger GPS is still pretty new and there is no mention of suppliers or pricing on the Ranger China website. But it could be something to keep your eye on if you want to add GPS to your DS.
