Rockwell Collins MicroDAGR GPS receiver
Rockwell Collins announced last week the MicroDAGR hand-held GPS receiver for soldiers. Built for the battlefield, the MicroDAGR GPS receiver features a color touchscreen display, real-time GPS positioning, navigation and mapping in a package suitable to be worn on the wrist. It also has access to L1 frequency–military-only GPS accuracy–and anti-spoofing and jamming features. The MicroDAGR uses vibration alerts, an MP3 player and digital camera to record sounds, pictures and video for post-mission analysis. The first shipment of the MicroDAGR GPS receiver will come to the United States Army Rapid Equipping Force in January 2010. And no, the average consumer will not be able to get themselves one of these.
