Samsung has finished the week on a strong note by officially announcing the NC20 netbook, or more accurately, ultraportable notebook. The system features a 12.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, full 12-inch keyboard and a trackpad.
As opposed to the usual Intel Atom processor, the Samsung NC20 instead uses the 1.3 GHz VIA Nano processor and the VIA VX800 chipset. The ultra low voltage processor pulls a claimed 6.5 hours of battery life from the included 6-cell lithium battery.
The 1.52 kilograms Samsung NC20 also packs in 1 GB of DDR2 RAM, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, an ethernet port, 1.3 megapixel webcam, 3-in-1 card reader and a trio of USB ports.
The stock version of the NC20 includes a 2.5-inch 160 GB hard drive, but there is the option of choosing a solid state drive instead.
Pricing and availability for the Samsung NC20 are still unannounced.
