More information about Samsung’s Q1 EX UMPC has hit the wire with an official launch.
The Q1 EX has the same 7-inch, 1024 x 600 touch display as its Q1 Ultra predecessor, but in response to consumer feedback cut out the split QWERTY keyboard. Samsung also chose to use the 1.2 GHz VIA Nano U2500 ultra low voltage processor to power this guy, the same chip used in Samsung’s newly launched NC20 notebook.
The CPU is complemented by 2 GB of DDR2 memory, a 60 GB hard disk drive, and a three-in-one memory card slot. Connectivity options include 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, and a built-in GPS receiver. The Q1 EX also has a puny 1.3 megapixel camera integrated into the back casing. Unfortunately, despite the low power CPU, Samsung says maximum battery life tops out at 4 hours.

Though no specific launch dates have been announced, expect to pay US$780 for the Q1 EX. A little overpriced if you ask me.
