Samsung reveals Android phone release timeline

androiddudes Samsung reveals Android phone release timelineSamsung has held its Android plans close since day one.  Previously all we knew was that the mobile phone maker had three Android handsets planned for release in 2009.  But now we have a bit of a timeline.

Dr. Won-Pyo Hong, executive vice president of global product strategy for Samsung’s mobile division, told Forbes that its first Android device is slated for a June release outside of the United States.

The US will get a couple of Samsung Android phones in the second half of 2009, most likely with Sprint and T-Mobile.  Hong said that the two handsets will have different form factors due to carrier preferences.

Samsung also has plans for a single Android phone for Europe, though it’ll probably be available on several different carriers.
