
Samsung is busy showing off its new i7110 candybar handset at the London’s Symbian Smartphone Show today. The i7110 features a 2.6-inch, 240 x 360 pixel OLED display, runs on Symbian’s S60 OS, and has a built-in GPS sensor for not only navigation, but geotagging photos taken with its 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. The i7110 also features pre-programmed pedestrian navigation for 10 major Western European cities and has an FM transmitter so can hook up the phone to your vehicle’s stereo system, enhancing the quality of voice-guided driving directions.
Offering plenty of multimedia support, the Samsung i770 supports DivX, H.263, H.264, WMV, MP4 and RV video codecs and AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, MP3, Real Audio and WMA audio codecs. Multimedia files can be stored in the phone’s 50 MB of built-in memory, or on a 16 MB microSDHC card. Other notable features include Wi-Fi support over HSDPA networks, Bluetooth 2.0 and a USB 2.0 slot. Samsung hasn’t revealed pricing plans yet, but the i7110 will first launch in Russia in November, followed by a wider release after that.
