The Sanyo NV-SD700DT and NV-SB360DT GPS units are the latest Japanese-release navigational units to boast mobile TV technology, something we’re sure is soon to catch on in the North American market. Both units feature the newly developed Sanyo Gorilla engine, capable of quick and simultaneous processing of GPS coordinates, traffic data and music playback. The Gorilla units also feature 4GB SSD memory, a 1 seg tuner which records using EPG on an SD card, with a pre-programming feature that will record up to 10 different programs. Interestingly the two units also constantly monitor your traffic speed, warning you when you bust through the speed limit, and in the interest of pollution prevention, also warns you of over-rapid acceleration. The Sanyo NV-SD700DT and NV-SB360DT GPS have screen measuring 7- and 4.5-inches respectively and will hit Japanese shelves April 21. Look for approximate costs of 105, 000 Yen (US$1050) for the NV-SD700DT and 85, 000 Yen (US$850) for the NV-SB360DT.
