Something resembling Toshiba’s Snapdragon-powered TG01 phone has passed through the FCC.  At first glance, it looks like the TG01 and the pictures are of the TG01.  In fact, the TG01 is the only Toshiba model we’ve seen confirmed to ship this year.

But the FCC specs list the model TM5-E01 as being smaller than the TG01, having a screen size over an inch smaller than the TG01, and as having a black and white secondary OLED display–something not usually featured on anything but flip phones.  A Windows Mobile flip phone? No.

The GPS-enabled phone that passed through the FCC is most likely the TG01 in my guesstimation.  Probably a mix up there somewhere.

The phone just look like a grey IPhone. I guess that all the majors electronics companies are trying to push such models on the market. Samsung launched the Blue Earth model which works with solar power, but it is pretty useless compared to other products in the same category. I hope that Toshiba is more useful than other phones.

Oh yeah, I'd definitely like for them to bring this to the US and allow it to be unlocked so we can use our mobile phones in many different areas.

Toshiba, if you're listening, please bring this to the US. PS, require the carrier to unlock the phone, so I can take it to Europe with me and use a local SIM card. Thanks, Ron Z.
