Sony has announced the dash personal internet viewer at CES 2010 in Las Vegas today. The 7-inch color touchscreen device features access to over 1, 000 free internet apps running the gamut from news to navigation. The Sony dash allows users to access a NAVTEQ app that provides traffic updates on customizable routes. So even though the device isn’t a typical GPS navigator per se, and doesn’t include its own GPS chipset, by way of its web connection users can use it for traffic navigation. Furthermore, it supports different user profiles so that presumable different users can create different travel routes. Shipping in April, the Sony dash will cost $199.99.
