Sony Ericsson has announced the upcoming launch of the C903 Cyber-shot slider phone.  Of course the big feature this phone offers is its 5 megapixel camera, dedicated camera keys, 16x zoom, Face Detection that can detect three people in one picture, Smile Shutter which automatically detects smiles, and BestPic which snaps 9 successive pictures so you can pick the best and get rid of the rest.  It doesn’t quite sport the 8 megapixels we’ve seen in Samsung handsets lately, but these extra features might be worth the sacrifice.

The C903 has a 2.4-inch auto rotating display, GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSPA 900/1200 or alternatively UMTS/HSPA 850/1900/2100 support, Bluetooth, SMS/MMS/email, audio/video playback and TV-out.

Geotagging is supported via the C903’s assisted GPS and preloaded Google Maps, which can be either stored or uploaded to photo-sharing sites like Picasa or Flickr.  The handset also comes with a 3 month trial version of Wayfinder Navigator offering route planning and turn-by-turn directions.

Sony’s Ericsson C903 Cyber-shot will be available in the second quarter in select markets.  Pricing hasn’t been released but color options will include Laquer Black, Techno White, and Glamour Red.
