logo android Sony Ericsson, HTC Rumored To Be Planning Android Phones For Summer Of 2009Forget the Summer of ‘69.  If Google Translate is at all effective at translating Danish and Swedish, it’s going to be the Summer of ‘09.  Phandroid has learned that Sony Ericsson, a new addition to the Open Handset Alliance yesterday, will be working on an Android-operated phone for the summer of 2009.  According to blog, the company will first be focusing on high-end handsets and then moving to mass market offerings.  See you later Windows Mobile.

Phandroid has also managed, through Google Translate, to find out that HTC–maker of T-Mobile’s G1–will be coming out with “one or more” Android products by the summer of 2009.  From the translation it seems that whatever they release will be confined to Denmark however.

We’ll have to see what happens.  I know from personal experience that Google Translate doesn’t do a particularly good job of converting Japanese to English, so take this news with a grain of salt.

  • One thing I think that could’ve enhanced the usefulness of Free Translator is some kind of speech feature to help you pronounce words in other language
