Sick of searching for Wi-Fi hotspots between meetings or college classes?  Yeah, me too.  Sprint’s Mobile Broadband USB Modem 598U could be a potential solution.  The modem, provided by Sierra Wireless, is optimized for Sprint, supporting EVDO Rev. A with download speeds between 600 kbps and 1.4 Mbps and upload speeds between 350 and 500 kbps.  The 598U is also backwards compatible with EVDO Rev. O and 1XRTT technology in areas that haven’t been upgraded to EVDO Rev. A.

The modem includes enhanced GPS support so you can navigate or use location-based applications on your mobile device, a microSD expansion slot that supports cards up to 32 GB, and SmartView installation software for both PC and Mac to simplify the setup experience.

You can get your hands on it now at Sprint retail locations, by phone, or online.  Online purchases are free with a 2-year contract.
