Taiwan-based Orion Technologies has launched a GPS tracking device powered by the Sun. Creatively named Suntrac, the GPS tracker is a waterproof device with built-in GPS and GSM modules that works anywhere in the world GSM is available. Not only will it use solar power to function when a 12 volt connection isn’t available, but if you can’t connect to a cellular network it will still record GPS coordinates and save them to its 4 MB internal memory. Measuring in at 320×280×41mm and weighing 2 kilograms, I haven’t seen the Suntrac in North America, nor do I expect to anytime soon. It is cool though, isn’t it?
