T-Mobile is making the GPS-enabled, Android-powered G1 available at all T-Mobile retail outlets and partner chains across the United States.  When the phone first rolled out, T-Mobile’s 3G network was just getting off the ground so the company limited the G1’s distribution to areas where customers could access its high-speed network.

Now that the initial demand for the device is long gone, the wireless provider is making it available everywhere in order to access that ‘long tail’ of revenues.  This should also encourage developers who, so far, have opted to develop apps for the iPhone as it has wider distribution and supports paid applications.
