Takara’s GPV 1004 in-dash entertainment system has a fully functional GPS navigator with iGo NavNGo navigation software, SiRF receiver, and TeleAtlas Maps. Headed for Europe, the GPV 1004 features a 4-inch motorized screen that flips to reveal an optical drive on the back, radio, DVD player, and an MP3 player which can be used via either the SD card or USB slots. The 1-DIN device also has “dual zone technology” allowing DVD playback in the vehicle’s backseats while using either the navigation or music playback functions in the vehicle’s front. It’ll also accept video input for a rear view camera and audio/video input for game systems. Expected pricing is 399 Euros.
