Telus grabs the iPhone in Canada
Rogers has lost its iPhone exclusivity in Canada as both the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS will be available through Telus and Bell in the near future. This could be a good thing for consumers as increased competition tends to push prices downward. While analysts expect that both Bell and Telus will launch the iPhone with prices similar to Rogers’ ($199 for the iPhone 3GS, $99 for the 8 GB iPhone 3G, $149 for the 16 GB iPhone 3G with a 3-year contract agreement), both carriers will likely launch with some sort of deal to draw in customers. Neither Canadian wireless carrier has announced exact pricing or even release dates, though the latter should be sometime in November.
