TomTom GO 530 Traffic Gets Reviewed

Trusted Reviews has put the TomTom GO 530 to the test.  Little sibling of the GO 930 and GO 730, the GO 530 Traffic sports maps of the UK and Ireland, a 4.3-inch TFT touchscreen, and an RDS-TMC live traffic receiver with no subscription fees.  It also uses IQ Routes, or historical traffic data, to calculate the quickest route from point A to point B, specific to each date and time.  The lane assistance system works well, routing you to the most effective lane approaching a junction and TomTom’s MapShare system ensures accurate maps by crowdsourcing fixes.

The touchscreen is adequately sensitive, but the wealth of options does render the screen somewhat cluttered at times, and if the GO 530 has any downfall it’s the amount of features it offers.  It may take some time to get used to for GPS newbies.  Finally scoring an extremely respectable 9 out of 10, Trusted Reviews says it is one of the most fully-featured sat-nav’s available in Europe.  Unless of course you’re okay without the IQ Routes and Lane Assistance; then they recommend the GO 720 Traffic (but it’s their favorite!).
