It’s not a huge surprise now, but TomTom’s iPhone application is now available in the American and Canadian App Stores as of this morning. It is pretty expensive though: $99.99 for the app alone. The car kit and related hardware is an added cost; one of which TomTom hasn’t officially announced yet.
TomTom for iPhone does provide turn-by-turn GPS directions, 3D views and other features common to dedicated TomTom GPS units. But as Gizmodo points out, competing apps like CoPilot’s Live app for the iPhone cost less ($34.99 in this case) and offer similar features.
Here’s a review from Recombu conducted this morning.
