Is the TomTom iPhone application coming to North America on Monday morning? It appears that just might be the case after it has appeared in the New Zealand and Australian App Stores earlier today, followed by a variety of European App Stores in the past few hours.
Four versions of the TomTom iPhone app (minus the car kit hardware) appeared in New Zealand this morning.
US & Canada–>US $84.41
Western Europe–>US $121.55
Australia–>US $70.90
New Zealand–>US $81.03
Earlier in August the full iPhone kit inluding both the car kit and software appeared for pre-order via UK retailer Handtec for US$193.75 after taxes, though the pricing hasn’t been verified by TomTom.
A fifth version of the iPhone app tailored for individual European countries also appeared in the last few hours.
Benelux–>covers Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg and is available in all three countries
D-A-CH–>covers and offered in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
France–>offered in France
Iberia–>offered in Spain and Portugal and covers Spain, Portugal, Andorra, Gibraltar and major Balearic and Canary Islands
Italy–>offered in Italy
Nordic–>covers and offered in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark
UK & Ireland–>covers and offered in UK & Ireland
All of the localized versions are lower cost than the full regional versions.
It’ll be interesting to see if the application appears in the North American iPhone App Stores tomorrow. It appears that may be the case. If so, given the software is appearing, I’d expect TomTom to officially announce the hardware availability as well.
