chinesegmaps TomTom Offers Free Chinese Google Maps Downloads In Taiwan

TomTom International, in cooperation with Google, will now provide free downloads of POIs and coordinates from Chinese language Google Maps to TomTom PND’s…in Taiwan. Of course, it makes sense. Back in 1945 when Taiwan was under China’s jurisdiction, Mandarin was made the official language of the country and is still its most prominent. TomTom has offered global support for the service since last year.

What are you talking about? Taiwan was not under Chinese jurisdiction in 1945, or at any other time... it was under American military government and KMT forces were merely given temporary custody of the island until a final solution could be worked out. That still hasn't happened. Read the Treaty of San Francisco sometime.
